- Nationally, the annual potential market for post-consumer latex paint products is $1.2 billion. According to the 2010 Census, OR represented 7.6% of the U.S. population. Using this percentage to adjust the national numbers, the annual potential market in OR would be approximately $90 million.
- The OR pilot program’s primary focus has been on collection and management of leftover paint and has not focused on developing a market for post-consumer paint. However, the OR program does indirectly contribute to developing the market by:
- Increasing the supply of leftover paint.
- Promoting recycling over other management options (e.g. disposal).
